Frequently asked questions
What chemistry should be used to disinfect the hot tub water?
Chlorine is one of the most popular water disinfectants. Chlorine and its compounds are not only used to clean the water of swimming pools and hot tubs, but this is also widely used to clean drinking water. However, chlorinated water can irritate the skin of bathers or cause allergies. If you take a shower after swimming and use chlorine sparingly to clean the water according to the instructions, you should not feel any discomfort while enjoying the pleasures of the hot tub. The recommended chlorine rate for hot tub water is 0.6–1.0 milligrams per litre.
NOTE: To use water chemistry in the tub, it is necessary to choose a stove made of AISI 316. Because AISI 430 and AISI 304 are less resistant and can simply leak.
What are the most common mistakes when operating a hot tub?
1. The shoulder of the tub is ignited too soon and the stove is burned. The stove should only be lit when the water reaches the required level, i.e. 10 cm to the top of the tub.
2. Water is drained from the tub too soon before the stove has had time to cool down. Such an action is as harmful to the stove as in the first point.
3. The water in the bathtub is left with water when the temperature outside is below zero. Water expands when it freezes, at the same time damaging the structure of the tub (wood, if the tub is wooden, plastic and glass insert) and the water heating stove. In order not to damage the tub in the winter, the water must be drained from the stove.
